.Synopsis...
A cutoff low lingers near SoCal late today through Thursday,
bringing increasing mountain/upper foothills PM thunderstorm
chances the next several days. Elsewhere dry and warm weather
persists through Tuesday, with more seasonable temperatures
anticipated mid to late week. Overall drier weather then looks to
prevail into the weekend as temperatures trend slightly above
normal.

.Key Messages...

* Today:

-Above-normal temperatures and Minor HeatRisk Today and Tuesday in
     the Valley and foothills. Warmest temperatures expected today.

-Probability of high temperatures 85 degrees F or higher:
- Northern/Central Sacramento Valley:
          85 to 100%
- Delta, Southern Sacramento and Northern San Joaquin Valleys:
          40 to 70%

* Tuesday - Saturday:

-Continued warm weather Tuesday becomes seasonable through mid
     week, with an additional warming trend moving into the weekend.

-Isolated to scattered thunderstorm chances during the afternoon
     and evening Tuesday through Thursday across the mountains and
     foothills.

-Probability of Thunderstorm Development:
-Tuesday: 10-20%, highest along Sierra from Interstate 80
                  southward

-Wednesday: 25-35%, highest along Sierra/southern Cascades

-Thursday: 5-15%, highest along Sierra south of Highway 50

    -Probability Snowfall >1":
-Thursday night-Friday morning: 10-25% Sierra locations above
         6500 feet south of Interstate 80

-Probability of northerly Wind Gusts > 30 mph:
       -Friday: 30-60%, highest along and west of the Interstate
        5 corridor

-A generally unsettled upper level pattern is expected moving
     into the weekend, but a return to slightly above normal
     temperatures looks to remain the primary impact at this time.
